John Bear
John Bear has more than 35 years’ experience in the battery industry – all of his time has been has been spent in Lead Acid chemistry including expertise in both cylindrical cell and prismatic cells for use in transportation applications (Automotive, Truck/Bus Diesel Starting, Marine Starting and Cycling and Golf Car/EV).
Corporate experience includes roles in Operations, Quality, Pilot Plant startup and operation, Process Engineering, Product and Application Engineering, Materials and battery testing with specific strengths in battery component design, root cause and failure mode analysis and product liability.
Bear has worked with many customers including John Deere, Case New Holland, International Truck, Club Car, EZGo, MCI Motor Coach to develop application specific batteries for use in Agricultural, Military, on-road/off road Heavy Duty vehicles, Automotive and Marine applications.
Bear graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Chemistry. He holds a total of 13 design and utility patents covering lead acid prismatic flooded and AGM designs and lead acid cylindrical cell AGM designs.
