Paul Cheeseman
Dr. Paul Cheeseman has over thirty years in the battery industry. Starting in Research his functional experience spans all areas of Product Development, Engineering and Operations. He has acquired many technical management skills most significantly Strategic Planning, Project Management, Technology Innovation, People Development, Problem Solving and Cost Management, including VAVE. He has participated at every stage of the battery technology life cycle. From start up, through rapid growth to maturation including mergers and acquisitions.
Paul has worked for premier battery companies, specifically Duracell, Rayovac, Varta, and Exide. His responsibilities and activities have spanned the globe including Manufacturing & Engineering Center responsibility in Asia, Europe and The Americas. His experience includes initiating, driving and managing Technology partnerships with multiple international companies. For the last 12 years he held senior executive positions at Spectrum Brands and Exide Technologies
Over the 30 years Paul has gained practical experience with many battery systems. Specifically Alkaline, Nickel Metal Hydride, Lithium Ion, Metal Air, Zinc Carbon, Lithium Primary and Lead Acid, particularly AGM. Battery system work has included Smart Batteries, Chargers, Large Energy Storage systems and HEVs. His work has spanned Consumer, Automotive, Military, Telecom, Industrial and CleanTech markets.
Paul holds a PhD in Electrochemistry and a BSc in Chemistry and Materials Science from the University of Nottingham in the UK
